Owner Surrender
Owner surrender is one of the hardest realities animal shelters face. While some families are forced to make this decision due to unavoidable life changes, many animals arrive confused, frightened, and grieving the loss of the only home they have ever known. Shelters do not simply “take in” surrendered animals—they must provide medical care, emotional support, training, and time to heal from stress or neglect. Every surrender places additional strain on limited resources and space, which is why we encourage pet owners to seek support, training, or temporary assistance whenever possible before choosing surrender. Keeping animals in loving homes should always be the first option.
Please read and complete our "Surrender Consideration Form" carefully. All necessary information is included on the form, and any additional questions can be addressed during your appointment.
