Tiny Fighter: One Kitten’s Fight for Survival
Rescue Timeline
Jun 29, 2026 to Dec 2026
-
A tiny, abandoned kitten was found by a member of the public. At the time of rescue, the kitten was severely emaciated, dehydrated, and struggling to open both eyes.
-
The finder attempted to care for the kitten for one day but was unable to provide the level of care required and contacted our shelter for assistance.
-
Upon intake, the kitten's right ear was drooping, and he had difficulty keeping his right eye open. He was also extremely weak and underweight.
-
During the first several days in our care, the shelter's primary focus was stabilizing the kitten by treating dehydration, malnutrition, and weakness. He was bottle-fed kitten milk replacer around the clock.
-
As of July 2, the kitten began drinking formula independently from a dish and started using the litter box on his own. However, he still required gentle stimulation from caregivers to urinate properly.
-
On July 3, while cleaning the kitten's ears and eyes, shelter staff discovered bloody pus draining from the top of his head. A small wound had previously gone unnoticed because it was hidden beneath his fur. The wound was carefully examined, and accumulated pus was gently expressed before the area was cleaned and treated with a wound cleanser containing 2% alcohol.
